Artist Statement
My work entails taking various elements from source material (pictorial, literary, historical, or observational)
and transforming these through materials into an image that engages, confounds, and ultimately resonates with the viewer hopefully creating more questions than answers.
My favorite quote by Matisse-"Whoever wishes to devote himself to painting should begin by cutting out his own tongue."
